"Samantha's story" Aug 7, 1987 to May 16, 2005 Samantha
a one and million Sheltie has crossed over the bridge at the age
of 17 years & 9 months. 12 years ago: It came to my attention that my cousin was unable to have children, they were on a long list waiting to adopt a child but the wait was too much for my cousin and she became very depressed. At that time Sam was only 5 years of age, since she was never enamored with the shows, her heart was in living at home being the great house dog and friend that she was to me. My first thought was how can I help my cousin, I looked at Sam and thought yes, I would offer Sam to my cousin. Sam had a great ability to comfort you when you were sad and could always make you smile. I called my cousin and offered Sam to her and told her what a great Sheltie she is and that she would help her during this bad time. My cousin hesitated on taking on a dog at the age of 5 but I persisted and brought Sam up to meet my cousin & her husband. In minutes after meeting Sam, the smile that my cousin had lost for so long was now back and my cousin fell in love with her. I knew immediately this is where Sam had to live. Shortly after Sam becoming a part of their family, my cousin called me with great news, a young baby boy was available for adoption. It truly was great news for all, Sam with her new family and now a new baby boy, the family was complete. Sam lived a long and happy life with her new family bringing joy to all who met her. My cousin said, they could not walk Sam down the street without someone stopping them to say "what a beautiful dog you have". Sadly on May 16th, 2005 Samantha passed away quietly at home with her family she loved dearly. The family was devastated with Sam's passing but my cousin was grateful for the time they had with her and the joy she brought to their family. This story does not stop here: My cousin again was a list waiting to adopt a second child and not even two hours after Sam passed away my cousin received a call from the adoption agency, a young 5 year old girl was available for adoption, she has auburn hair and her name is Samantha. My cousins tears of sorrow for the loss of Samantha is now mixed with tears of happiness on the arrival of their new daughter. This story has come full circle with Sam entering their lives at the age of 5 bringing such happiness for over 12 years and now the miracle of joy with the arrival of their new daughter Samantha. Sam was a Champion in every way with her zest for life and a Loving Heart that she gave so freely, she will always be treasured in our hearts.. With Love from All, Samantha we will truly miss you and we thank you for being apart of our Lives.... |
Samantha Show Career:
'Samantha' is truly what a breeder looks for in a foundation bitch. Structure, movement, type, temperament and brains are all in this compact 14 ½" pure for sable named "Samantha". Her movement - second to none.
At her first show (9 months of age) 'Sam' won WB, BW, BPB & BB over group winning specials for 5 points - Judge Joe Gregory, breeder/owner handled. Then as an adult under judge Mr Glendinning she won WB for 4 points and under Mr G. Tayler she won WB for 3 points handled by Mary Curl in limited shows.
Line bred on renowned Can Am Ch Candega Main Event and Can Am Ch Candega's Panache ROMC. With this outstanding pedigree Samantha passed on her qualities to her children. She is the dam of 2 Canadian champions, Ch Crinan's Immortal One & Ch Crinan's Sweet Dreams, view her great grandson CH Crinan Red N'Fusion finished in 7 days & CH Crinan's Magic Moment..
